Summer Fun: Anniversary and the Fourth!

       On Saturday, July 2nd: we had a wedding....it was special because it was on our 5 year Anniversary! The wedding we attended was at Carthage College, John's alma mater, and after the wedding we walked across the street to the "kissing rock." Apparently, legend has it that it is good luck to kiss your love at the rock....and he "promised" he never kissed anyone else there ;) SO.... in honor of our five years of marriage we smooched and then....... John pulled out a box, a beautiful anniversary right-hand ring. He TOTALLY shocked me. John isn't that great at keeping presents a secret, he always wants to give me the gift right away. So, needless to say, it was a beautiful surprise. Then his co-worker came over to take a picture of us and asked if we were going to his co-workers for a pre-reception get-together..... but John had another trick up his sleeve, he said "Noooo..... I have something special planned." WHAT?!?! There's ANOTHER surprise?! I couldn't believe it! So, after reminiscing at the college for a little longer we drove around Kenosha for a while and then he finally drove up to the Kemper Center Chapel where WE were married....and sitting in the parking lot was my best friend who John told me was there to take pictures for us! HOW SWEET! I was so surprised to see her! John and I have a favorite photo from our wedding day and we did our best to recreate it! All in all we had a great day- all thanks to my thoughtful husband! Who knew he had so many tricks up his sleeve?!

             Fourth of July in Cudahy was fabulous. We went to the parade and had a great time. Madison did well, she wanted to remain in her stroller and watch, but she was great. She loved the bands! Ava loved, the candy! Not even really eating it, but collecting it! She loved the whole idea of it! Then we went to my Mom's for lunch and to enjoy the sunshine! She had a sprinkler set up for the girls! They loved it! This summer is turning out to be a great one! Lots of sunshine and happy days!!!
